Working with Boards

Boards are the top-level containers for organizing work in Fizzy. This guide covers common board operations.

A board represents a project, team, or area of work. It contains:

  • Cards: Individual work items
  • Columns: Workflow stages (e.g., “To Do”, “In Progress”, “Done”)
  • Settings: Auto-postpone rules, access controls

Get all boards you have access to:

fizzy_list_boards()

Response:

[
{
"id": "board_eng",
"name": "Engineering",
"cards_count": 45,
"columns_count": 4
},
{
"id": "board_design",
"name": "Design",
"cards_count": 23,
"columns_count": 3
}
]

Create a new board for a project:

fizzy_create_board({
name: "Q1 Planning",
all_access: true,
auto_postpone_period_in_days: 7
})
  • all_access: true - All account members can see the board
  • all_access: false - Only invited members can access

Set automatic cleanup for stale cards:

fizzy_update_board({
board_id: "board_eng",
auto_postpone_period_in_days: 14
})

Set to null to disable:

fizzy_update_board({
board_id: "board_eng",
auto_postpone_period_in_days: null
})

Make a board publicly viewable:

fizzy_publish_board({
board_id: "board_roadmap"
})

This generates a public URL anyone can view (read-only).

To remove public access:

fizzy_unpublish_board({
board_id: "board_roadmap"
})
  1. Create a new board

    fizzy_create_board({ name: "Sprint 1" })
  2. Add workflow columns

    fizzy_create_column({ board_id: "board_xxx", name: "Backlog" })
    fizzy_create_column({ board_id: "board_xxx", name: "In Progress" })
    fizzy_create_column({ board_id: "board_xxx", name: "Review" })
    fizzy_create_column({ board_id: "board_xxx", name: "Done" })
  3. Create cards and triage them

    fizzy_create_card({ board_id: "board_xxx", title: "Feature A" })
    fizzy_triage_card({ card_number: 1, column_id: "col_backlog" })
fizzy_delete_board({
board_id: "board_old"
})
  1. One board per project - Keep boards focused
  2. Use auto-postpone - Prevent stale cards from cluttering views
  3. Limit columns - 3-5 columns is optimal for most workflows
  4. Publish roadmaps - Share progress with stakeholders
